Bosoley, a US-based solar lighting solution provider, and Solvatten have signed an agreement to assist the people of Haiti. The two companies share the vision of improving the living conditions of people across the globe. In this venture, Bosoley will act as the exclusive agent of Solvatten in Haiti. Fondation Seguin, a Haiti Based environmental focus NGO and Solvatten have joined forces to address Haiti’s biggest challenges. The shared vision here is improving existing conditions of natural resources and support a better economic growth. AMREF (the African Medical and Research Foundation) is now including Solvatten in a project called PHASE – Personal Hygiene and Sanitation Education – which will reach about 10 000 people in rural areas of Nabweru, Uganda. AMREF and Solvatten AB share the vision of providing sustainable health solutions to vulnerable people, so they can escape poverty. Cooperation between AMREF and Solvatten will lead to improvements in health, household finances and the environment. Solvatten is working together with the non-profit foundation myclimate – The Climate Protection Partnership. This organization is an international initiative with Swiss origins. Founded in 2002 as an ETH Zurich spinoff, myclimate is among the world leaders when it comes to voluntary carbon offsetting measures. A project has been launched in Uganda 2011. www.myclimate.org
NOOW is a new international movement, a union for gathering organizations worldwide for Sustainable Noow Time ©. This organization has launched an initative with donation from Akzo Nobel and Casco to help the flood victims in Pakistan with Solvatten and more. Thanks to this effort 14 000 children in Islamabad and Baldistan now have a better life. NOOW is looking for sponsors and donators for many many more Solvatten systems travels and transports. The Nordic Climate Facility and Solvatten AB is overseeing a project that is building household capacity to adapt to the impacts of climate change in Kenya. Solvatten units are being distributed to 2500 families in Kibera, Nairobi. The households are contributing towards the costs, and the promoters of Solvatten receive a commission for each sale.
Tricorona and the Swedish company Middagsfrid have signed an agreement to invest in a project that will generate carbon credits.
The project will be conducted in western Kenya, where a prior pilot study took place in 2009. Approximately 5 000 people will benefit as they will start using the sun to warm and boil water and reduce their use of fuels that pollute. And at the same time the project will enable Middagsfrid to compensate for their carbon emissions for a year. The collaboration between Solvatten AB, Tricorona and Middagsfrid will demonstrate carbon offsetting in a way that significantly improves lives and the environment – what better way to do this? WSP has begun a fund-raising effort to send Solvatten to Africa. Staff at WSP Sweden, a branch of the global WSP Group, raises money through a water run event in 2011. Solvatten AB has signed an agreement to be a Technology Provider through Kopernik. This new organization providers a web platform for technologies, NGOs and donors to find each other, in order to distribute much-needed products to people in developing countries. From now NGOs can make proposals to Kopernik for projects to introduce Solvatten to communities. Once approved, proposals will be posted on the Kopernik site, and donors can contribute to make these projects happen. For more information see: www.thekopernik.org


Together with ROTARY and RINCOD, Solvatten AB has conducted another user acceptance study, this time in Mutomo, Kenya. The study has further strengthened confidence in the Solvatten technology and substantially helped the young mothers involved.
Solvatten units were distributed to 37 mothers with children under five and the use of the units was monitored for three months. The average number of water treatments per day was 2.3, that is 23 litres of safe and warm water every day.

The Environment and Public Health Organisation of Nepal is a non-governmental scientific research organisation working on water, environment and health projects in Nepal and other parts of South East Asia. The partnership between Solvatten AB and ENPHO was established in 2007 for tests of the functionality of the product. The cooperation is continuing with research into user acceptance in a suburb of Kathmandu. www.enpho.org

In October 2009 Vi Agroforestry and Solvatten AB began an implementation in Bungoma, north-west Kenya. The potential benefits from the use SOLVATTEN are being assessed. UN Habitat and its regional offices in Mali are supplying Solvatten to families living with poor water and insufficient energy resources in Bamako. The demonstration project will run for at least one year and more than 1 300 people will benefit. Since Solvatten is contributing to the realisation of all UN Millennium Development goals, further UN collaboration is expected. UN-Habitat has been supporting the research studies in Nepal and has assessed the effectiveness of SOLVATTEN in various geographic locations and under different climatic conditions.
